In an intense match, the second annual Buddy Combs International Arena Challenge, held at the Lakeside Polo Club in California, saw Team USA triumph over India by 14-12.
India led for the first two chukkers, but the USA made an impressive comeback, tying the game in the third chukker and then pulling ahead in the final period with three crucial goals to secure their first Buddy Combs title.
The American team featured Nicole Bankhead, Robert “Robby” Pizarro, and David Brooks, while India fielded Chaitania Kumar, Arsalan Khan, and Lt. Col. Prithvi Rathore.
India dominated early, maintaining the lead through the first half of the match. However, the USA's resilience shone through as they leveled the score in the third chukker, setting the stage for an exciting final period. USA’s momentum carried them to victory with a final score of 14-12.
Despite the USA's win, Arsalan Khan of India earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. The Best Playing Pony (BPP) was awarded to Maco 7, played by Robby Pizarro and owned by George Dill.
